strong character traits and healthy self concepts.
Beth Carls, Interim Executive Director
As a marketer, small business owner, public company founder, and social
entrepreneur, Beth helped found MindOH! and the MindOH! Foundation
to encourage individuals to create their own brand of genius. She
believes that all individuals have within them the inner resources
necessary for the development of strong character and a healthy self-concept.
And, she's excited about the possibilities the Internet affords to
facilitate these objectives. Beth's previous entrepreneurial ventures
included co-founding a Houston Internet consulting firm that was the
fastest growing private company in Houston from 1996-1999. She recently
retired from the consulting firm she helped take public in 1999 and
within one month was working with her five fellow co-founders to start
MindOH!, a socially and fiscally responsible elearning company. Beth's
experience as a national marketer and a board member and a consultant
to Fortune 1000 companies gives her the background to give MindOH!
the contacts, leadership, management and vision needed to make the
company a nationally recognized leader in the field of eCharacter
Education. She received her BBA from Sam Houston State University
and her MBA from Abilene Christian University.
Amy Looper, Volunteer Program Consultant
Amy began her entrepreneurial career in 1983 as founder and president of 7 Seventeen Group, a Houston-based advertising and marketing design firm. In 1996, she leveraged her expertise, along with nine other partners, and helped co-found a new e-commerce company, Align Solutions, that grew 8,164 percent in just three short years. In 1999, Align became the largest of eight companies to form a new Internet consulting firm, the largest market cap IPO in the high-tech sector that year. Amy firmly believes in the "village" concept to help grow children into responsible adults. She helped co-found MindOH! because it's the perfect vehicle for her to help inspire kids to reach their full potential. Amy is an expert at converging creative approaches into technology solutions for clients. She provides subject matter expertise on branding in the online and offline environments, online marketing and customer relationship management strategies, as well as Web-based interactive multimedia solutions. Amy speaks nationally on a variety of Internet topics. In 2000, she was recognized as one of Houston's Top 20 Women in Technology for Women in Computing. A graduate of Sam Houston State University with a BFA and specialty in advertising, Amy has served in several leadership roles with the Houston Women's Business Council and Women in Technology (WITI).
