"Bullies vs. The Golden Rule"

When I think of a bully, I think of someone who doesn’t follow the Golden Rule. Bullies usually boss people around and make people do things that they do not want to do. They don’t care that they are hurting people’s feelings and embarrassing them. They judge people by what they look like on the outside instead of what is on the inside.

A little boy named Andrew was being bullied at school. Three kids were blocking him from using the bathroom! When Andrew got home from school every day, he would run into his bathroom. After three days of this, his mother finally asked him why he does this. Andrew started to cry! He told his mother what was happening at school. The next day, Andrew’s mother called the school to talk to the principal about the problem. The three boys were called into the principal’s office. They were warned and told this better not happen again, or they will be expelled from school.

Two days later, Andrew’s mother asked him if everything was going okay at school. Andrew told her that the same boys were now calling him bad names and still blocking him from using the bathroom! Obviously the bullies did not take the principal very seriously. Once again, Andrew’s mother called the school about this incident. The principal called the three bullies into his office the next morning. He made them apologize to Andrew and they were expelled from school and could not attend any extra-curricular activities associated with the school! Andrew was much happier now that he was not being bullied!

Unfortunately, there are bullies in every school. The students need to stick together and help their friends when they see someone being bullied. Each of us should learn how to stand up for ourselves and not be afraid of this kind of person.

Bullies are people who are not happy about themselves, so they try to make other people unhappy too. They really just want attention. If you are a bully, you need to remember to treat others the way you want to be treated. You will end up with many friends and you will feel much better about yourself.

In conclusion, remember, there will always be consequences for your actions because you may not realize it, but there is always someone watching you.
