The 2004 Character's Cool Contest

The third annual Character's Cool Contest was held in January 2004:

  • 5,939 students filled out the online survey
  • 1,321 students submitted essays
  • 335 schools participated
  • 45 states participated

A.I. Root Middle School in Medina, Ohio won the grand prize with a total of 484 survey entries. Gibson City Melvin Sibley Middle School in Gibson City, Illinois was the runner up with 230 survey entries. Read more about the results and winners of the 2004 contest.

The 2003 Character's Cool Contest

The second annual Character's Cool Contest held in January 2003:

  • 6,503 students filled out the online survey
  • 591 students submitted essays
  • 277 schools participated
  • 37 states participated

Tomah Middle School in Tomah, Wisconsin won the grand prize and D.A. Smith Middle School in Ozark, Alabama was the runner up. Read more about the results and winners of the 2003 contest.

  • 303 students submitted essays
  • 130 schools participated
  • 35 states participated
